On March 6, 2025, at the iconic Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Christopher Esber presented his Fall/Winter 2025 collection. The show continued his exploration of sensuality and structure, with French ateliers playing a central role. They helped bring his vision to life through unique textiles, intricate handwork, and detailed embellishments, turning familiar materials into haute couture pieces.
Esber focused on unexpected combinations. Flamenco-inspired elements intertwined with a fascination for opulence, balancing indulgence and restraint. Corduroy, often associated with practicality, appeared in a new light: velvety, voluminous, and enhanced with hand-stitched silk rouleau, elevating a simple fabric to sophisticated luxury. Heavy fabrics were draped to create a cocoon-like feel, while lighter knits paired with tweeds and velvets, offering a play of weight and texture. Trousers featured experimental panels gathered into volume and cinched with belts, adding a subtle sense of drama.
A theme of deconstructed luxury emerged throughout. Fabrics appeared slightly worn, as if with a story to tell. Velvet and knits were combined with brocade inserts and satin drapes, evoking the charm of vintage interiors. Leather belts slipped through folds, partially hidden, creating a dialogue between movement and restraint.
Flamenco influences were reinterpreted rather than literal. Charcoal wool shirts featured ruffles trimmed with tassels, and lightweight knits were shaped into concave tiers with free-flowing frills, abstracting traditional dance skirts into architectural forms. Evening dresses revealed deep scooped backs and low armholes reminiscent of 1920s silhouettes, while the body was subtly restrained with shibari-inspired knots inside, leaving outer layers fluid and airy.
Interior elements inspired wearable forms as well. Curtain cords were woven into drapes and incorporated into garments, creating a delicate interplay between concealment and revelation. Among the looks, silk column dresses with lace strips, georgette with tortoiseshell prints set in resin, and suits with fine fringe adding movement to structured shapes stood out.
The collection weaves a story of contrasts, where freedom meets restraint, fluidity meets structure, and intimacy meets drama. The Paris runway highlighted this delicate balance, inviting the audience into a space where clothing becomes a language of emotion and opposites converge in harmony.
